Hard to take pictures of a rig when you’re standing in it, so after the initial voyage, I decided someone was going to have to get wet in order to take the photos. I should have tried a little earlier in the morning and I would have got better light, but you get the idea.
We stayed close, as you can tell, but the oxygen levels dropped again where we were (click here) and we only found a brief bit of action before 8:30 here at Lake Elsinore.
My son Mike won the bass tournament, with a drop-shot fish off a fence on a grape Zoom. As usual, I took top catfish honors with a 4 1/4 pounder on a Road Runner off the dike.
The main thing, though, we finished the break-in time on the Optimax, got all electronics dialed in, and waxed that puppy, just like any other new boat owner. Now the only issue is clearing out my garage so I don’t have to go pick it up every time I want to make a cast–or two.
As for the pond across the street, I think it’s still going to be a few weeks before that water temperature gets into the mid to high 70′s instead of over 80 degrees. It has cleared up, but all that has done is allow the algae to bloom deeper.
I agree, it’s not as good here as the striper fishing over at Diamond Valley.

Thanks, KJ. We just like fire station camo.
Nice ride George!
Congrats on the new rig. New botes R purdy. Now you have additional storage space to hold the 1/2 ton of roadrunners in the garage.
Nice boat! Any fence lines bite it yet?
The secret is knowing where the fence posts live.
Nice boat GMan … when ya coming down?

Nice boat GK!
