Allowing for your busy weekend of fishing activities, I thought I’d at least add my reminder of FINS (Fishing Instruction Night School?) at Anglers Marine in Santee. Jay Yelas, he of high school in Santa Barbara, college at Oregon State, former Bassmasters Classic champion, and one of the most successful westerners in competitive bass fishing, will be the headliner.
Although back living in Oregon, he is familiar with California waters and even better with techniques and approaches that will work here for you. His national experience gives him a perspective on how to look at what’s in front of you and make inspired decisions, not merely falling back on old habits.
Obviously, the free meal (6 p.m.) in front of the seminar that begins at 7 p.m. is sort of like adding a big pork trailer to an already effective lure. So reservations would be a good idea: call 619-449-3474.
