Looks like I’ll be spooling on new line over the next few days as I have Perris and Elsinore fishing trips coming up, followed by a trek Monday night to Santee for the F.I.N.S. (Fishing Information Night School–at Anglers Marine).
I’ve been itching to get over to Perris (for the early morning only) to see how that lake is doing with low water and high temperatures. One would think the fish would be more than active, and I’ve got some new Lucky Craft topwaters, Flick Shakes for wacky jigging, plus the usual drop-shotting with pink Robos in mind.
Elsinore is more of a “scientific” venture. The recent fish loss percentage-wise was minor, but until somebody holds up a fat live one for the camera, everyone else will think the worst. Regardless, though, I’ll let you know what I find. (And I’ll probably catch it on a chartreuse Road Runner.)
The F.I.N.S. deal, though, sounds very interesting. Randy McAbee, one of my Top 40 guys, is going to be talking about crankbaits, and even if he ends up shilling Dobyns Rods, he’s going to be a wealth of info. I can’t think of a better way of gathering real “now” info on the subject than to get it from a guy who fishes hard baits in our part of the country. You can get in on this one by calling (619) 449-3474.
I’m not fishing on the weekend, though. Tustin High renunion on Saturday, noon to four. Yeah. They had high schools back then….

Hey George,
You’d think those educated SoCal bass would get conditioned to all your pink ROBO’s!

Art: I just got waylayed. Congratulations on the win. You and Buck are another team they need to break up–like the ’27 Yankees. I will definitely try to get down there for Jay’s sermonette….

George did I miss you at FINS. I was pretty tired with the two day tournament and all. I would feel bad if you were there and I didn’t say hi. If you missed it make sure you mark your calender for Sept 14th we are hoping to have Jay Yelas at the next FINS. Thanks
